ProSIM bags the remaining life assessment and extension (RLA/RLE) for nine power plants of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)
ProSIM has been pioneering in the structural integrity assessment of energy assets. ProSIM serves its energy customers in the design stage, erection and commissioning stage and asset management stage.
With this work order for 9 NTPC plants, ProSIM will be doing the RLA/ RLE and FFS work for more than 35 units of NTPC involving 120 MW, 210 MW, and 500 MW plants.
Current work order involves structural integrity assessment of all the critical pipe lines including pipe flexibility analysis, hangars and supports design, finite element analysis (FEA), materials damage assessment, effect of corrosion and other damage assessment on modelling, fitness for service (FFS) assessment as per API 579; and providing certification regarding retire/ repair and reuse of the pipeline and related accessories.
Work involves remaining life assessment of all pipelines including main steam line (MS), Hot Re-heat (HRH), cold re-heat (CRH), high pressure bypass (HPBP) and low pressure bypass (LPBP). Effect of corrosion induced damages, microscopic damages, weld defects etc, on the remaining life and structural integrity has to be assessed by analytical methods and validated by ASME/ API codes. Analysis has to be conducted for the design condition, as-is-where-is condition and suggested conditions, as per load cases set in API FFS 579 standards.
